Lantern Festival
Michelle and I went to check out the lantern festival on Queensborough, as it was quite close to us.
I had not shot with the mono-pod in some time (i.e. years), but I'm glad I brought it instead of a tripod.

It was nice to walk around and take some nigh photos. I probably should have cut this post down by 3 or 4 photos, but I think it's a better representation of what happened even with a few shots I'm not 100% happy with :)
Hope you're having a good weekend.

Just a walk to the library and bank
Sometimes it's hard to walk along the same streets and take different photos. :)
Sometimes, not as much.

Long time no street
It's been a while since I've decided to shoot people in the street.
I just have to photograph the photographers :)

Looks posed. Isn't.

Post Snow New West - Part 1
The snow didn't stick around long and I got out to try and get some fresh air on Saturday.
I set out to shoot some textures as it was pretty wet still. But I also did something that I hadn't done in some time, shoot some 'street'. I'll break this into a couple of posts and try to group some of the shots.

Jet-lag photo walk
Michelle was a bit wiped out and I've been missing too much sleep, so we just went for a little walk around the 'Westside' of New West.
I slapped on the 35mm f1.8 and just shot with that. It is a bit freeing to have no zoom and a very light lens. I took a grand total of 30 photos. Which, given that it was digital, may be an all time low :) I like the following.
Church bush

Lil-guy

White filling

No more Veggie Buffet

Valuable Green

Weathered

That's a whole lot of keepers for 30 photos of which 12 were duplicates.

New West views
Such a nice afternoon that I decided to go for a walk outside instead of heading to the gym.
I was not alone in my desire for some sun

Further along, I couldn't get over the slight creepiness of the bronze child

I decided to head towards the waterfront

And you've got to cross some tracks to do so

Bridges are prevalent as well

I've been trying to capture some of the river scenes

People were jogging and power-walking on the boardwalk

It got fairly chilly as the sun was setting, but I'm very glad I came out

Hope you had a good afternoon.
