We went to the Paddlewheeler pub on Friday for dinner and the food was very good, I recommend you stop there sometime and give it a try.
Of course I took a camera along :)
I've shot this building from a lot of different angles, I think it's the amount of wear on the metal that interests me. At some point I'm hoping to get a photo I'm truly happy with.
I'm also still hung up on patterns and light
Self portrait inside the new Westminster Quay (now "River market")
Was I saying something about patterns and light earlier? ;)
Just as we got to the other side of the tracks there were salsa dancers in the square. It felt really random, but also cool. Last year we missed the free concerts there and I'm still a bit unhappy about that. Such is life :)
Hope you're having a good weekend.

Chipped
Look at this long (and hard) enough and the photo itself will start to look crooked :)
Also from the July 12th walk through New West.
Not forgotten
Now behind fencing, the old structure still stands, but for how long?
(You can't see the fence of course as I climbed up onto some barriers to take the shot over it ;) )

Busy day at Jericho
After doing the 'small loop' I ended up riding into Vancouver to meet up with Michelle for dinner after she was done playing footbag.
The group played longer than expected so I cycled a bit more and stopped at the pier at Jericho.

Before Lillooet
Tony was supposed to be there on this ride, but sadly he got a flat and we managed, after 1 1/2 hours, to damage the spare tube changing it.
I eventually went on to do the 'small loop' by myself (Vancouver -> Lillooet -> Lytton --> Hope --> Vancouver

Crooked, backwards and bisected
I know I'm not doing enough with my photography when images sit on my camera for over 2 weeks without me looking at them.
The following are from a little walk through New West and it's the 'oddball' images that I enjoyed.
"Straight" up
Corner lamp
Cut-off and backwards
Choppy grid
Clouds over glass

Porteau at Sunset
I stopped on a ride back from Squamish to have a look around. The sun was just touching the last bit of the hill.

Another great day dual-sporting
The goal was to get from Harrison Hotsprings to Boston Bar. I'd never been that way, but after a bunch of checking and getting info, it sounded like it would be fine on a KLR.
We had 10 riders at the meet, a pretty big group.
Things got going pretty fast. Unfortunately I was having some issues with the front tire on the wet stuff (after all the rain there were some 'slimy' sections). So I slowed and took my time. We basically ended up with 2 groups.
Everyone got together at the forks.
Some great scenery along the way. I didn't get the camera out nearly enough. I'm hoping to get back there this year and take a bit more time to take photos.
In the long run, the water always wins.
I hit a nasty rock right before this, but luckily no flat :)
And then I forgot I had a camera. Or, more realistically, I was working hard muscling the bike around and didn't stop to dig it out.
We had to get over a tiny bit of snow at the pass and a large slide had just been repaired. No problems getting into Boston Bar for some lunch.
A few of us split off at that point to head home, the main group went to ride some more. Great day (even with the rain on the way home ;) )
