Took the new bike, now with the new lights installed and headed out for a ride.
Should have carried a big tripod, but tried to make due with what I had. The colours were amazing

New Ride
I bought this from Morgan, always nice to deal with people you know! Got new wheels on it and a refreshed drivetrain and picked it up yesterday. Once it dried out a bit today I went for a ride (first one back after fighting this cold for 2 weeks).
Feels very different than my mid 1980's Nishiki :)
I like it.
Thanks to Morgan for all his help getting this build up with some fresh parts!
P.S.: Morgan actually appeared in the very first ever post on this blog in 2007

Velodrome
Michelle and I went down to watch Pete race at the velodrome.
I'd never been to one before (and apparently there are only 4 indoor ones in Canada), so of course I brought a camera.
I shot over 450 photos, and a very very small number of panning shots turned out well enough that I thought I'd post them.
Pete before his novice race. I think what you see there is fear :)
Back straight
On the banking
Racing for the line
After a while we went down to where the racers were and I liked the new angle:
Chasing the leader
Having fun
Pete's joy at surviving
Hammer-time
No brakes
It was interesting. Very difficult lighting conditions I had to bump up to 1600 on the ISO

New Westminster at night
Michelle joined me and we both spent times with tripods and cameras... though there was a slight size difference ;)

Long time no street
It's been a while since I've decided to shoot people in the street.
I just have to photograph the photographers :)
Looks posed. Isn't.

Michelle had to go downtown on Sunday, so I came along and brought a camera.

Totem
Shot at Kits beach. I'm trying to get closer...
I like the fact that it looks like two dis-separate photos pasted together :)
