Velodrome

Michelle and I went down to watch Pete race at the velodrome.

I'd never been to one before (and apparently there are only 4 indoor ones in Canada), so of course I brought a camera.

I shot over 450 photos, and a very very small number of panning shots turned out well enough that I thought I'd post them.

Pete before his novice race. I think what you see there is fear :)

After a while we went down to where the racers were and I liked the new angle:

It was interesting. Very difficult lighting conditions I had to bump up to 1600 on the ISO

Track Day shots

2 photos Tony took on Monday during a little track day.

One colour

One converted to B&W

It was a great day. Throwing that big ZX9R around, running with that nimble 600's is quite the experience.

I got better at setting up passes, but this time I stayed in the "medium fast", a.k.a. the non-racer group. I find it more comforting to be the guy doing the passing, rather than the guy who's getting passed. As last time, I think I was a bit to quick for the medium group and a tad to slow for the racer group.

Who knows, maybe next time I'll run with the track guys again, though I'd really like to have a lighter, race prepped bike for it. :)

Misson Raceway practice

Jerry and I ripped ... umm gently, yeah that's it gently, rode through some back roads and ensured that my kneesliders still work, they do, and then dropped by the practice at Mission Raceway.

If you're not into motorcycles, skip this post :)

Bernie wins the award for 'best shirt ever!'

Ryan (Naga) on Bernie's old bike

Not sure who this is

Dean had an "oops" but luckily the bike was fine! (I didn't ask about him... ;) )

Dean talking with Bernie and Jerry after getting checked out.

Fat ugly guy in spandex (a.k.a Ken) working on his bike. Ken beat all odds this season by making more than 2 laps without wrecking his bike!

Pre race yoga. Ken, put some damn pants on will ya?

Happy Faces

Chicken strips on race tires?!

Trying the new layout

Some sweet old school bikes were out

Honda used to make some good looking bikes ... what happened?!

Slidehow here

Then we had a kick ass ride home. Bikes ran great, we had good pace and it was a beautiful day. Both of us had some exciting times on sand today.

Hope you had a good day as well :)
