More film from last year cont.

A few more images from last year.

These first two I like and am having a hard time deciding which orientation I prefer; though right now I'm leaning to landscape.

More film from last year

Some of these shots were from last spring. I really need to shorten the cycle (maybe use less film cameras at once? :) )

Watching

I quite like how disconnected everyone seems.

Sometimes damaged film is OK :)

More to come over the next few days.

Have a great weekend.

Deer Lake walk

Trying to shake this nasty cold. Thought maybe a little walk would help get my system going...

More Holga

I'm just about finished with scanning the first roll.

I must say there are a couple of interesting shots. Some are of the 'classic Holga' variety

Double exposure

What I meant to do was

Though I like both.

I find composing with the square format is different for me

And I'm not sure if I have it worked out quite yet.

One more that I like

Overall, I'm very pleased. Definitely worth having one and shooting with. :)

Holga first attempts

First off, I have not shot enough lately. More importantly, I have not finished what I started, i.e. I had a lot of partially shot rolls of film

I finally finished the roll of black and white film in my Holga and got to 'experience' developing it. It took me 20 minutes to get the film onto the development reel. In total darkness of course. (for those of you who have never developed film, I can do the same with a roll of 35mm in about 1 minute). Frankly, medium format film is so much tougher than 35mm, I wasn't quite prepared for it.

But, I persevered. And here are a few results, i.e. my first 3 scans :)

Kitsilano Garage

Minimalist Holga

By far my favourite shot of the three I managed to scan so far.

A yard.

Overall, I'm quite pleased and am looking forward to shooting more with it. It sure doesn't make photography 'easier' but it the 6x6cm negatives are impressive and I do like the idea of shooting a camera made entirely of plastic, lens and all. $40 well spent ... now if only the film was cheaper.

Old film

... in a couple of ways.

One, this film has been expired for years (maybe 6?). And two, I had the exposed rolls sitting around since last June.

But, I finally got around to doing some developing and scanning tonight.

Some of the first results, all from our road trip to Oregon last year.

First, two slightly different takes on the same idea:

I think I like the first one better, but thought I'd post them both

Return from fishing

I guess I have two takes on this as well :)

Hopefully there will be more installments as I keep scanning & developing :)

New West views

Such a nice afternoon that I decided to go for a walk outside instead of heading to the gym.

I was not alone in my desire for some sun

Further along, I couldn't get over the slight creepiness of the bronze child

I decided to head towards the waterfront

And you've got to cross some tracks to do so

Bridges are prevalent as well

I've been trying to capture some of the river scenes

People were jogging and power-walking on the boardwalk

It got fairly chilly as the sun was setting, but I'm very glad I came out

Hope you had a good afternoon.
